Another maternity item has made our top 10 list, and it is the Junezia Anti-Radiation Dress Maternity Top. This is a one size fits all design and only comes in one style. It can be worn in a few different ways to add variety and give you choices when it comes to this protective clothing item.

You can wear the dress under clothing, and that includes V-neck or other low cut items due to the low neckline of the dress. You can also wear the dress over another shirt tunic style. In addition to these two styles, you can wear it as a nightdress.

This maternity dress claims to protect against low and high frequencies, which we think is a plus. The only drawback is that it is recommended that the dress is only dry cleaned or hand washed and laid to dry. This could be a deal-breaker for some. In addition to the protective clothing that we have already mentioned, there is protection out there that is specifically for babies. There is concern out there about the effects of electromagnetic frequencies on babies and young children.

While some of the products we have already discussed will protect your unborn children, such as the maternity tops and camisoles, once they are born, they may still need some protection.

SYB Baby Blanket

The Shield Your Body Baby Blanket claims to protect against 99% of the lower frequencies from everyday electronics. It looks like a typical baby blanket and is made from soft flannel that will be comfortable for baby.

What we love the most is that the blanket is the largest on the market, comes in a variety of colors, and is machine washable and dryable. With babies, easily laundered is a must. However, this blanket is not inexpensive.

As with other protective products, this would be an investment. The price on the Shield Your Body website is just under $100. There are other blankets on the market, but they are similarly priced.

Nova Resonator Child Band

There are some protection options for older children and one of those is the Nova Resonator Child Band. This a stylish woven type bracelet that your child can wear anywhere without anyone know what it is. Keeping this on your child as much as possible could help protect them from everyday EMFs that they come into contact with.

If your child does not want to wear it on their wrist, then it can be worn on their ankle as well. This Earthcalm product has research on its website that supports their claims of protection.

SYB Baby Beanie

It is very common for babies to wear beanies and hats when they are very young or in the winter months. So why not make an investment in a baby beanie that does two things. The Shield Your Body Baby Beanie keeps you babies head warm while offering some protection of EMFs.

SYB uses 35% silver content to make this product and because the sliver is through the entire beanie, it offers protection all the way around the head. It is very soft, as a baby hat should be, and is machine washable.

Vest Anti-Radiation Baby Blanket

Another baby blanket on the market that we like is the Vest Anti-Radiation Baby Blanket. This blanket is smaller than the SYB option and only comes in two different colors but if you need a blanket that is somewhat easier on your budget, this might be a good choice with a retail price of $79 on the Vest website.

It is 100% cotton with silver fibers embedded and blocks 99% of the EMFs from everyday devices that will be around your baby at home or out and about. This product has been tested by the FCC and approved.

With any of the products mentioned make sure you do your research on the product and the company to make sure you are getting the best product for what you need.

Other Methods of EMF Protection

Clothing and baby items are not the only methods of EMF protection that you can purchase. Directly blocking the electromagnetic fields that are emitted from cellphones and laptops is also a good option for protection. There is also a method that is free but very difficult to actually do.

Taking steps to protect you and your loved ones from potential hazards is always a wise thing to do. With so many options on how to do it, it can be an easy task with the right information and products.

Avoid EMFs

One of the best ways to protect yourself and others from EMFs is also one of the hardest things to do. We are such a technology-saturated society that unless you live in the woods and off the grid, you can’t successfully execute this method.

It is recommended by some that EMFs be completely avoided by avoided the technology that emits them. This is nearly impossible, especially in America. Our cellphones are rarely out of our hands or far from us at all. Most jobs will have some technology needs if not completely reliant on computers, laptops, and cellphones.

If you can minimize your exposure by turning off your tech at night, having tech-free times, not putting your laptop on your lap, and not sleeping with your cellphone or carrying in your pocket that will be helpful. Another case that we like is the Vest brand case. This one also has 360-degree protection and is also a wallet. The wallet part does not detach like the DefenderShield Case, but it is a lower price point. It also fits a wider variety of smartphones.

On their website, you can search by phone brand to find one that will work for you. They also have cases that are not wallets. Since this version does not close, it won’t offer 360-degree protection, so just be aware of that when you are trying to choose a case.

Laptop Shields

Laptops were made to do what their name says and that is to sit on top of your lap. When laptops were created, the potential hazards of EMFs were not known and now we all love the portability that laptops give us. Now, however, we know that this could be hazardous but what do we do?

If at all possible, always use your laptop by setting it on a table or desk, if that can’t always happen there is a product to help. EMF protection companies have developed what is called a laptop shield to minimize the EMFs that are sent into our bodies when we are using our computers.

The idea behind the shield is that you set the laptop on the shield before setting it on your lap.

DefenderPad

Lab Test Results

Laboratory test results have been carried out by Professor Shujun Zhang, Professor in Applied Computing and Technology from the University of Gloucestershire. See his profile here on glos.ac.uk.

Without going into too many details, a cell phone was tested for radiation on a spectrum analyser. In the image below, the cell phone is connected directly (WITHOUT the SYB H.A.R.D.).

A person was made to stand 50 feet away and make a call to the cell phone being tested. The image below indicates the reading of the spectrum analyser. Notice the huge spike at 1.94 GHz (indicator of EMF). The louder the person spoke, greater was the spike indicating higher EMF interference.

After this, the SYB anti radiation device (called a cool call unit in the image below) was connected in between the cell phone and the spectrum analyser.

When the same test was conducted, this is what the spectrum analyser readings indicated. Notice that the spike is no longer seen.

In this article, I offer an in-depth review of each product to help you make the most informed decision about which is right for your needs. First, however, I look at why EMF radiation shielding blankets are such an important thing to have in your home.

Why use an EMF radiation shielding blanket?

As most of us probably know by now, all electrical devices give out something called electromagnetic radiation. This covers all wavelengths of the EMF spectrum, including x-rays, microwaves, and visible light (read my related article).

While some types of EMF radiation are known to be more harmful than others (looking at you x-rays), most people don’t consider the fact that they’re constantly exposed to potentially harmful EMF radiation through contact with devices like computers, TVs, WiFi routers, and smartphones.

Studies into the long-term health impacts of EMF radiation are currently quite thin on the ground, but this is mainly because the devices haven’t been around for long enough yet. Also, without sounding like a conspiracy theorist, there are more people invested in labeling this technology as harmless than there are advocating for its dangers.

Either way, EMF radiation is believed to impact some big things, including:

• Fertility
• Proper development during pregnancy
• Behavior of children (such as ADHD)
• An increased risk of cancer

So, as you can see, there are plenty of reasons to be concerned about the dangers of EMF radiation, particularly for more vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women or couples looking to have a child.

What’s more, this is the largest EMF radiation shielding blanket available on the market. Considering my one major issue with the Belly Blanket above is its size, this one solves that issue.

What I liked about the SYB baby blanket

The SYB EMF shielding baby blanket is made from hypoallergenic cotton flannel, which is incredibly soft and snuggly. Also, it’s completely fine to use around babies of all ages, including newborns. However, if you have any concerns, just pop it in the wash before first use.

As I mentioned above, this is actually the largest EMF shielding baby blanket on the market, and measures 40” x 32”. This makes it large enough for you to wrap baby in, or to use yourself when near sources of EMF radiation (this blanket is perfect for using while on a laptop, for example).

What’s more, this baby blanket uses one of the best materials for EMF radiation protection: silver thread. The blanket is made of approximately 18% silver thread, which might not sound like much, but it’s still enough to block up to 99.9% of EMF radiation.

Much like the Belly Armor blanket above, this seemingly small amount of silver thread is enough to form a protective “cage” around you or baby, so it will block out EMF radiation, meaning you can feel much safer regardless of where you are.

On that note, one thing I love about the SYB blanket is that, while it’s the largest on the market, it can still be folded up very small because it’s such a soft material. This means it’s really easy to slip into your handbag or baby bag, so you can take it with you everywhere.

The size of this blanket, and its portability, make it suitable not just for pregnant women and babies, but for anyone concerned above EMF radiation exposure. For example, I’d have absolutely no issue taking this blanket into work with me (it even comes in styles suitable for the office).

On the subject of colors, this EMF shielding blanket comes in plenty. There are more baby-focused ones (with polka dots), or even one aimed at adult users (which is just plain gray I’m afraid). Also, there are no harmful chemicals used during production, so there shouldn’t be any concerns using it around the baby.

The blanket is made of 3 layers, and it’s the middle one that contains the active silver thread. While there’s no concern about coming into contact with silver, it’s helpful to know that you’ll only ever be in contact with the super soft cotton flannel exterior.

What I didn’t like about the SYB baby blanket

Much like the Belly Armor blanket above, there’s very little negative to say about the SYB blanket. However, my only real critique is that it doesn’t come in loads of colors or finishes. There are 5 colorways available, which is fine, but compared to some others on the market, this isn’t loads.

That said, the lack of colors is made up for by the price of the blanket. It might look expensive at first glance, but when you compare it to others on the market and take into consideration the size, it’s actually pretty good value for money.

While this might be the most expensive EMF protection blanket on this list, it’s probably also my favorite. This is mainly because it comes from such a reputable company, but I also think it’s the nicest feeling blanket, even if it’s not the most colorful.

What I liked about the Defendershield blanket

This blanket from Defendershield is pretty big, measuring 36” x 35”. While this isn’t as big as the SYB blanket above, it should still be big enough for most adults to use comfortably. After all, it’s most important to protect your torso when blocking EMF radiation.

Unlike the other blankets listed here, which are made from cotton, this blanket is made from bamboo fibers with a silver thread interior sheet. Bamboo is an excellent material because not only is it incredibly sustainable (fasting growing plant on the planet, after all), but is also has its own anti-bacterial and moisture-wicking properties.

This basically makes it an excellent choice for a blanket because it keeps you warm while drawing moisture away, and is suitable for use around babies because you don’t have to worry about it harboring dangerous microbes.

What’s more, Defendershield claims this blanket blocks 100% of EMF radiation, and while this is only 0.1% more than the others, that’s enough to make a difference. If I was to use one of these blankets around my children, it would be this one.

How the company does this, however, is a mystery, and a closely-guarded industry secret. However, after testing it myself, I can confirm this is true. This, along with its size, makes it the perfect choice for adults, pregnant women, and babies too. It’s an ideal size for wrapping your baby in and will create the ultimate EMF shield.

The bamboo cloth the blanket is made from is also hypoallergenic (another plus) and is completely non-toxic. This is also true of the production process, so you won’t worry about washing it before first use, although you still can if you want to be on the safe side.

On the subject of washing, this blanket is fine to be put in the machine, and won’t lose its protective ability. Bamboo cloth is really easy to wash and is actually much more durable than cotton, meaning you’ll get plenty of years of use out of this blanket. Hopefully, this should make it worth the investment.

However, all of this efficacy comes at a price, and it’s a pretty hefty one. I’m not including this point in the negatives though, as I feel that it’s not necessarily one. After all, if you’re looking for the ultimate EMF radiation, surely that can’t come with a price tag? Particularly when it comes to your children.

So, the way I look at it is this: Yes, this blanket is quite expensive, but you’re guaranteed to get 100% EMF radiation protection, and it’s made from completely sustainable materials. In this age, this is a particular selling point that’ll definitely attract plenty of interested buyers.

What I didn’t like about the Defendershield blanket

While it’s not the most important thing, one thing I am disappointed in is that this blanket only comes in gray. Sure, color doesn’t always matter, but gray is of course a bit drab. So if you’re looking for an exciting baby blanket, I’d consider a different brand.

Also, while I said I wouldn’t mention the price as a negative, it’s still worth mentioning here. This is an expensive EMF protection blanket, and is the priciest on this list. However, I feel it’s completely justified by the quality of the product.

The first product on my list comes from Belly Armor, which is a branch of RadiaShield. These blankets are designed specifically for use during pregnancy, and are perfectly sized to fit over your baby bump!

Overall, there is a wide range of blankets to choose from, each with different textiles and finishes. They’re soft to the touch, easy to wear and offer peace of mind because you know they’re made with industry-leading technology.

What I liked about the Belly Armor blankets

The first thing worth noting about the Belly Armor blankets is what they’re made from. A Faraday Cage is essentially a frame made from conductive metal that draws the EMF radiation away and grounds it. Well, Belly Armor blankets do just that.

The main active product in the Belly Armor blankets is silver thread. This is a particularly good choice because silver is one of the most conductive metals going, and it also has anti-bacterial properties (making it ideal for clothing).

These silver threads still do a great job of blocking and reflecting up to 99.9% of EMF radiation, even though the whole garment isn’t made of them. This is because, providing the threads touch, they still make a conductive shield.

What’s more, Belly Armor blankets are perfect for use by pregnant women and with children because RadiaShield ensures it doesn’t use any toxic or harmful chemicals, or heavy metals, during production. This means you can rest assured knowing you’re getting the best protection without exposing yourself to anything harmful.

However, probably my favorite feature about the Belly Armor blankets is how durable they are. Each blanket or maternity top is machine washable (in cold water) and will never lose its effectiveness. Sure, the fabric will wear over time like any garment, but the silver threads won’t wear down.

Belly Armor produces 2 types of their main pregnancy band: the Belly Band and the Embrace Band 2.0. The Belly Band can be worn under or over clothing, and is slightly looser fitting, whereas the Embrace Band is tighter and designed to be worn under your clothes. It’s really easy to choose which is right for you, and both come in a wide range of sizes.

What I didn’t like about the Belly Armor blankets

There’s very little bad to say about the Belly Armor EMF radiation shielding blankets. My only real issue is the fact that the blankets themselves are quite small, as they’re only designed to cover your baby bump.

However, the fact that the company also does pregnancy tops means they should probably do bigger blankets too. Realistically, this range is aimed at pregnant women, but even pregnant women probably want the option of bigger blankets.

That said, the range of EMF shielding blankets the company offers is quite extensive, and they definitely do exactly what they’re meant to. Also, if you do want a full-size EMF shielding blanket, then there are plenty of these on the market elsewhere.

Why I prefer YShield

There are many different ways to protect against EMF radiation, but many of these revolve around the idea of using metal to block radiation. While this is fine in some contexts, I’ve found that if you want general all-round protection for a room, then EMF shielding paint is the best option.

YShield is an excellent choice because it comes from one of the top manufacturers in the industry. Below is some more detailed information on how the product performs, including its active ingredients.

One of the most important things to note is that the paint is very black, so bear this in mind when it comes to application.

It’s intended to be used as a base coat over which you apply your normal paint, but it needs to be a water-based emulsion or silicon resin paint. These are what the manufacturer recommends, so make sure you use them otherwise you’ll impact the performance of the product.

YShield paint is silicone based, with its main ingredient being potassium silicate. It’s non-toxic, so don’t worry about using it around children or pets (obviously still keep them out of the room while decorating just to be on the safe side).

Does YShield Really Work?

It’s very effective at blocking both high and low frequency wavelengths, up to 18 GHz. This means that it will block EMF radiation from pretty much all electronic devices on the market, and will continue to protect you even as technology develops. Here is a performance test video.

The manufacturers advise that the paint blocks 99.9% of EMF radiation, including cell phone and WiFi signals. While this is beneficial if you’re looking to block radiation, bear this in mind when it comes to using your electronic devices in the room.

Obviously WiFi signals won’t reach mobile devices, and you won’t be able to use your phone to make calls either.

Over the past few months, I’ve tested plenty of different EMF shielding paints. The only issue is that I don’t have any evidence to share with you to prove that YShield is the best.

One of the biggest plus points is the coverage that YShield affords. Obviously, it’s not a cheap product, but you certainly get your money’s worth from the pot of paint.

The 5L tub can cover a surface area of about 405 square ft., but always make sure you measure the area before buying. The manufacturers recommend applying two coats for maximum efficacy, so you essentially need double the amount of paint for your wall space.

How To Apply YShield EMF Blocking Paint

You need to treat YShield like any other paint. This means that you should prime and wash the wall in the usual way, and obviously mask off any parts you don’t want to be painted.

Make sure you apply the paint in an even layer, but not too thick, otherwise it’ll become lumpy and take too long to dry. One of the benefits of it being black is that you can see where you’ve applied it too thin.

Leave it at least 24 hours to dry before applying the second coat, and leave it the same again before applying your actual paint.

One negative of the paint being black is that it’ll need several coats of paint before it’s completely covered, so you might find yourself spending quite a bit on emulsion.

Grounding

Grounding is imperative for maximum efficacy of the paint.

Granted, if you don’t ground the paint it’ll still work, but it really won’t be anywhere near as effective.

There are different grounding products available, but YShield do produce their own grounding strips.

You need to ensure you fit the grounding strip before applying the EMF paint because it’s only conductive on the top side. This means that if you apply it after, your paint won’t actually be grounded.

You also need to then attach the grounding strips to a grounding plate. I would recommend using one per wall you’re applying the paint to, as this will ensure all walls are grounded properly.

Ideally you should map out your grounding network before painting, and you should make sure to place the grounding plates near electrical outlets.

Grounding plates should only be installed by a licensed electrician, as they’ll make sure the network is completed properly.

General Tips

Since discovering that YShield is the best EMF shielding paint, I’ve played around with it a little bit, and found out some useful bits of information through trial and error.

Here are my top tips for using YShield paint:

• Make sure the area is properly covered without any gaps. This seems like a no-brainer, but even a small gap will reduce the effectiveness of the paint. If you’re going through this much trouble to block EMF radiation, make sure you do the job properly.
• The paint becomes better the drier it is. If you can stand to leave it for more than 24 hours to dry, then do.
• Account for more paint than you think you’ll need. A 5L tub covers a large surface area, but you don’t want to be caught short with a lack of paint.

The Best EMF Shielding Paint (YShield Review) – Final Thoughts

I’ve found that YShield is the best EMF shielding paint. Not only is it easy to paint with, it’s barely noticeable once you’ve painted over it. I tested it with my own EMF meter, but you’ll surely want to test it yourself.

I’d recommend doing as much research as possible before making a purchase because it’s definitely not cheap. That said, I found the money I’ve saved on other EMF blocking products has easily covered the cost of the paint.

Even if you consciously try to cut all electronic devices from your bedroom, including things like alarm clocks, your phone, and other gadgets, you’ll still be exposed to general background radiation. If this is something you want to limit, it will be worth investing in an EMF bed canopy.

What Is An EMF Shielding Bed Canopy?

The best way to shield EMF radiation in any situation is to use a Faraday cage. This is essentially a metal box that houses the electronic device and prevents EMF radiation from escaping.

Obviously it’s unreasonable to build a large metal cage around your bed, not to mention that this wouldn’t look particularly attractive.

An EMF bed canopy works on the same principle as a Faraday cage, except it uses special fabric that has radiation-shielding properties.

The main component in this material is silver, which is excellent for absorbing EMF radiation, and this is woven into a sheet with either cotton or polyester. This can then be draped over your bed and will block out almost all EMF radiation.

Why Do You Need An EMF Shielding Bed Canopy?

It’s hardly news that EMF radiation is harmful to your health, but the actual impacts of it are hotly debated among scientists.

There are links between EMF exposure and cancer, along with other health impacts such as:

• Weight gain
• Joint pain
• Premature aging
• Headaches
• Arrhythmia and other effects

Understandably, these are things best avoided when you’re sleeping. Our bodies use sleep to regenerate cells, fight off illness, and repair themselves from the day. This means we are particularly vulnerable to radiation exposure.

A study by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne found that exposure to EMF radiation massively impacts our body’s ability to produce melatonin.

Melatonin is the hormone our body produces to help regulate our sleeping patterns. This then has the side effect of how well we sleep, how long we sleep, and how effectively our body repairs itself.

Melatonin regulation is also impacted by light, which is a usual side-effect of having electronic devices around while we sleep.

So if for nothing else, an EMF bed canopy is essential to keep our levels of melatonin regulated. Without regulated melatonin, we won’t sleep properly, and after a while our bodies won’t be able to repair themselves. This is then the beginning of a slippery slope towards ill health.

Luckily, an EMF bed shield will block almost all EMF radiation and provide you with a safe and radiation-free sleeping environment.

What To Look For When Buying An EMF Bed Canopy

When it comes to buying an EMF radiation shield for your bed, you should know what to look out for to ensure you’re making a sensible purchase.

Just as with any other product that you’re buying for health reasons, you should try to avoid cutting corners on quality to save money.

Top quality EMF shields will be expensive, mainly because of the materials used, but if you’re serious about EMF radiation protection then you should be willing to pay out for top quality products.

Here are four main things to consider when buying an EMF bed canopy.

1. Materials

As mentioned above, bed canopies use silver thread to block EMF radiation, and so you should always look for this listed on the product.

Many EMF shielding products that contain silver thread will be listed as branded materials, such as Daylite, Naturell, and Blocsilver, so make sure you look out for these when making your purchase.

If you find a bed canopy that doesn’t use any of these materials, you shouldn’t worry too much, but if you want to be on the safe side make sure one of these brands is listed.

2. Size

Obviously size is one of the most important factors to consider when buying an EMF bed canopy.

You need to ensure that the canopy completely covers your bed and stretches all the way to the floor.

Most companies will sell canopies that are appropriate for different sized beds, so always check you’re buying the right size. Many will also list the actual dimensions of the product, so you may have to bring out the tape measure just to confirm.

If you don’t buy the right size of bed canopy, then you might as well not have bothered wasting your money.

3. Grounding

Of course grounding is another important aspect to look out for when purchasing and fitting your EMF bed canopy. In my article on smartmeter shields, the importance of grounding is brought out.

Any good radiation blocking product should be grounded, otherwise it’s essentially redundant.

Many higher quality bed canopies should come with their own grounding equipment, which can be as simple as a clip that is then attached to a plug socket, but you can also buy these separately and fit them yourself.

Yes, EMF radiation products will still work to a certain degree if they’re not grounded, but if you’re paying out lots of money on an expensive bed canopy, then you might as well have it working at maximum efficiency.

4. Efficacy

Granted, you won’t really know if an EMF radiation bed canopy actually works until you test it yourself using your own EMF radiation detector, but it’s always worth checking out user reviews online before committing to a certain product.

Any company that is sure of the quality of their product will happily list user reviews, and these will be the true test of how efficient a product is.

Best EMF Bed Canopy Buying Options

Below are the options available depending on your requirements.

Dome Shaped Bed Canopy

The dome shaped bed canopy is a mid-range product, and is a pleasant looking solution to your EMF blocking needs. It looks like a mosquito net, and is hung from a hook on the ceiling.

It’s designed to cover the whole bed, and should be long enough to reach the ground, although this will obviously be affected by how high your ceilings are.

The standard version of this product is made from Swiss-Shield Naturell fabric, which does a reasonably good job of blocking EMF radiation.

However, if you live near a source of strong EMF radiation, or your bed is set up near strong devices, such as a wireless router, you might want to upgrade to the Blocsilver version. It’s the same size and shape, but is obviously more expensive.

The Naturell bed canopy will be absolutely fine at blocking standard background EMF radiation, or from sources with weaker radiation, such as TVs, phones, and computers, but it won’t be anywhere near as efficient as the Blocsilver version.

So if you’re serious about EMF radiation, particularly if you’re buying for children or those with higher sensitivity, it’ll be worth getting the Blocsilver canopy.

There are also two more material options available: Swiss-Shield Ultima and Blocgold, both of which are more efficient than the versions listed above. However, as is probably quite obvious, the greater the efficiency of the bed canopy, the more money you’ll have to spend.

If you can afford it, it’s definitely worth buying the Blocgold bed canopy because this is very good at blocking out almost all EMF radiation, therefore guaranteeing you’ll have a radiation-free sleep.

The bed canopy comes in many different sizes, ranging from single to California King.

If you have concerns about completely covering the bed, or you have particularly high ceilings in your bedroom, consider moving up a size. That way you’ll be guaranteed to have sufficient coverage.

The canopy comes with a simple screw hook that it can be hung from, and this only takes a few minutes to install.

However, the EMF bed shield doesn’t come with any grounding equipment, and so this is something you’ll have to buy separately if you want to have the product working at maximum efficiency.

Grounding kits aren’t exactly expensive though, and many manufacturers will produce ones that can be used specifically with their products.

Considering this is only a mid-range product, the prices are quite high for the different versions. As with any EMF shielding product, they won’t ever be cheap, but you might get better value for money buying a more expensive, higher-end bed canopy.

That said, the price difference between the Naturell and Blocgold versions isn’t that great considering the jump in quality, so if you’re looking for a cost-effective but efficient bed canopy, then consider going for the Blocgold one.

Box Shaped Canopy

The box shaped canopy is a far superior shape to the dome canopy listed above. The box shape means that you actually have room to sit up in bed while the canopy is in use, rather than being restricted by a lack of space.

If you use your bed for more than just sleeping, for example for reading, then this would be a much better option for you.

The canopy is either made from Blocsilver or Blocgold, both of which are superior products than the Naturell fibres. This does however mean that it’s proportionately more expensive, but money shouldn’t be much of a consideration if you’re serious about blocking EMF radiation.

Blocsilver is much more efficient at blocking stronger EMF radiation, such as that from a cellular mast, so bear this in mind if you’re aware of any strong sources of radiation near your home.

The canopy is 150cm tall, and will easily reach the ground. Much like the dome canopy, it’s hung from the ceiling, but obviously require four hooks instead of just one. While this does mean it takes longer to install, it’s not really that much more work.

It also leaves plenty of space around the mattress, so you don’t have to feel restricted or claustrophobic due to the bed canopy.

Along with blocking out EMF radiation, this bed canopy is also anti-bacterial, and the material is incredibly lightweight and breathable. It’s very durable, and can easily be sewn.

The manufacturer also sells the material by the meter, meaning you can buy more if you want to extend the canopy or make your own. Most importantly though, it can be machine washed, so you don’t have to worry about replacing it if it just gets a bit dirty.

One of the best features about this particular EMF bed canopy is that it comes in a wide range of sizes. The smallest is UK cot, which is designed to fit a baby’s bed, and it goes all the way up to US California King.

Much the same as with the dome canopy, if you’re concerned about it not reaching the floor because you have high ceilings then consider going up at least one size. That said, this canopy is quite spacious anyway, but the manufacturer lists the exact size specifications.

The material used in this bed canopy has a shielding range of 10MHz to 3GHz, which covers all major frequencies given off by popular electronic devices. This should also cover you for future devices, such as 5G products, which is beneficial when you’re spending this much money on a radiation shield.

Just as with the other bed canopies listed in this article, this one isn’t cheap, but there is plenty of evidence to show that it’s good at what it does.

Four Poster Bed Canopy

If you’re looking for a more visually appealing option for your bed, then the four poster bed canopy is for you.

It’s designed to look like the curtains fitted on a four poster bed, and so looks slightly nicer than the others listed above, which look a bit too much like a mosquito net. However, if you’re not too bothered about appearance, then feel free to choose whichever you think is going to be the most effective for your needs.

This EMF bed canopy is made from Swiss-Shield Naturell or Ultima, and is combined with cotton thread.

It looks like a sheer cotton mesh canopy, and so won’t look too out of place in your bedroom. However, Naturell isn’t as efficient as Blocsilver at eliminating EMF radiation, and so this canopy will only be beneficial if you don’t have any sources of strong radiation near your home.

It should be fine for standard household products such as phones, WiFi routers, and such like.

The canopy is hung from four ceiling-mounted hooks, which come included in the pack, and these are very easy to install. Unlike the other canopies included in this article, this one also comes with adjustable height straps, meaning you won’t have to change sizes if you have high ceilings.

The manufacturer advises that the straps can be extended up to a metre, which should be sufficient for most buildings, especially when factoring in the height of the canopy itself.

While the four poster bed design is much nicer, and means it’s easy to get in and out of bed while the canopy is being used, it does mean that there’s more chance of exposure to EMF radiation. This is simply because there are more entry points than the other canopies, although the curtains do overlap to reduce the chances of this.

If you’re particularly sensitive to EMF radiation and you want to drastically reduce your chance of accidental exposure, consider buying a canopy similar to the box model instead of this one.

The canopy is 2m high from top to bottom, and when combined with the straps, should be find for rooms up to 3m high. As mentioned, this should be enough coverage for the vast majority of room sizes. The material is lightweight and durable, and is machine washable up to 40 times if the care instructions are followed properly.

There shouldn’t be any loss of efficiency through washing, but if you have any concerns, test it with your EMF radiation meter before refitting on your bed.

One of the best features of this canopy is that it comes in a wide range of sizes for both UK and US size beds.

Unlike the other models, this one has long ceiling straps too, and so will give you the best coverage out of the three products. However, as mentioned, the side slits do mean there’s a greater possibility of accidental exposure, so factor this in when considering your options.

That said, it does look quite nice during the day when the canopy is tied back. Also, this is the most expensive product out of the three, but does come with more material than the others, so this is to be expected.

DIY Bed Canopy For EMF Radiation Protection

While buying an EMF-blocking bed canopy is the easiest option for night time protection, there is also the option of making your own.

If you’re particularly handy around the house, this can be a fun project, and much the same as with anything else handmade, you know the exact source of the product, and theoretically how efficient it’ll be.

The first thing you’ll need to make your own bed canopy is some fabric. This needs to be fabric made with silver thread, much like the ones listed above, so you’ll have to keep an eye out for Swiss-Shield or Blocsilver.

All of these materials are reasonably easy to buy online, but are still quite expensive. When it comes to a product like this, which is made with silver thread, there’s very little you can do to reduce the cost.

If you’re good with a sewing machine then find a canopy pattern online to follow.

The type of pattern really doesn’t matter because you’re realistically making a normal canopy, just with a specialist material. However, based on the information above, there are clearly some designs that’ll offer greater protection than others.

The short answer to this is to find one that is as enclosed as possible, and then just follow it as normal. Bear in mind though that this fabric is very expensive, so do everything in your power to not make any mistakes!

You’ll still be able to make a half-decent bed canopy even if you can’t sew too well. The dome canopy shown above is little more than a large square of fabric hung from a hook, so this is probably the easiest option if you’re not very crafty.

At best it might involve you having to sew several lengths of fabric together to make a square, but this is reasonably easy.

Remember, if you make your own EMF bed canopy the you’ll also need to invest in the other pieces of equipment, such as hooks, ties, and such, although these bits won’t be expensive at all.

As fun as making your own bed canopy can be, the cost of silver-based fabric is so high that you might not end up saving that much money compared to buying one ready-made.

If you are serious about making your own, then make sure you research the cheapest place to buy fabric and compare it to the cost of buying a pre-made canopy.

Final Thoughts On EMF Bed Canopies

EMF radiation shields are incredibly useful for reducing your exposure to harmful background radiation, particularly as we’re now exposed to it almost every minute of every day. Fitting a bed canopy that blocks radiation can lead to better sleep, and your body functioning better during the day.

Understandably, due to the products used in these EMF bed shields, they are quite expensive. This is something you can’t really get around, but if you’re committed to EMF radiation protection, then you’re inevitably comfortable spending that amount of money.

Greater price doesn’t always mean greater efficiency though, so make sure to do plenty of research before making a purchase.
